1001 Fonts is committed to protecting the privacy of its users and so this policy points out which user-data is collected, how it is used and who has access to them.

First-Party Cookies

1001 Fonts may serve up to two necessary first-party cookies for the .1001fonts.com domain: A unique (psydonymized) PHPSESSID cookie to recognize visitors across pages, an optional REMEMBERME cookie to recognize returning signed in users and last a functional anonymous browsing_v2 cookie for saving selected browsing preferences such as desired font preview size, color or the number of fonts to display per page.

User Registration

Users can sign up for a registered account. The given password when signing up for a registered account is stored in a salted, one-way repetitively encrypted hash and can not be restored. The submitted email address is not published and only visible to the owner within his/her user profile. This preference can later be changed by the user at free will. An MD5 hash of the email address is publicly used for obtaining an avatar from gravatar.com. When signing in to 1001 Fonts the email is used to identify the user signing in. Optional email notifications pertaining to user activity may be sent to the given email address for notification purpose and can be deactivated at will anytime.

User Generated Content

Signed in users are able to generate and publish certain content, such as posting to a forum or commenting on a font or even publishing a font. The visibility/privacy of such content may vary and is usually marked with icons:

= Private (Visible to you, the content owner only)
= Public (Visible to everyone on the Internet)
= Custom (Visible to signed in users only)
= Custom (Visible to font authors only)

Email addresses published within public content are encrypted in a format hopefully not readable by spambots. In case of legitimate incoming copyright inquiries regarding user generated content, the user's email address may be used to enabling direct communication between 1001 Fonts and the two parties, to hopefully help resolve any issues.

Analytics

1001 Fonts uses Google Analytics to analyze its traffic, which makes use of (unique) cookies as well. IP-addresses get anonymized. You can opt out of our Google Analytics data collection by using the tools available here.

reCAPTCHA

We use the reCAPTCHA service provided by Google Inc. (Google) to protect your submissions via internet submission forms when signing up for a user account on this site. This plugin checks if you are a person in order to prevent certain website functions from being (ab)used by spam bots. Data related to reCAPTCHA is processed by Google on behalf of 1001 Fonts for this purpose.

Social Logins

1001 Fonts offers third-party social logins from Facebook and Google as a form of single sign-in for our website. When used, we receive and store your name and email address and possibly a unique identifier as permitted by the according social networking service in order to authenticate you when signing in to 1001 Fonts. We do not publish the collected email address, which is only visible to you the owner within your user profile. This preference can later be changed by you at free will anytime in your user settings. Optional email notifications pertaining to user activity may be sent to the given email address for notification purpose and can be deactivated in your user settings. We may publish your linked public social media avatar along with your given name.

Third Party Advertising
